About Us

We are a team of specialized professionals working together at Child Development Center to early identify and screen children expected to have high risk of autism spectrum Disorder. This program was established in collaboration with the Primary Health Care Corporation.
 
Our goal is to ensure early identification of children with moderate to high risk of Autism Spectrum disorder and to empower an train parents and caregivers to best understand and care about their children.
 

Our Services

  • Comprehensive multidisciplinary and developmental assessment using internationally approved tools and practices
  • Identify a child’s and family needs and advise on resources and priorities in order to develop a joint plan of care
  • Provide families with clear home programs and activities
  • Follow up the and reassess needs at regular intervals
  • Recommend referrals to other health care providers if needed
  • Arrange smooth transition to the Autism Program for children continue to be at risk of autism for comprehensive diagnostic assessments
  • Facilitate discharge or transition to community or other care providers if required

Conditions We Treat

Our see children between the age 18 months and 30 months who show some of the following signs and symptoms
  • Delay in speech development
  • Not pointing to objects on request ,
  • Does not engage in play with other kids
  • Poor eye contact
  • cannot play functionally with toys
  • Exhibits strange behavior.

Our team of qualifies clinicians includes:
  • Clinical psychologist (specialized in behavior)
  • Speech therapist
  • Occupational therapist
  • Nurse

Referral to the Program

The program accepts referrals only from Primary Health Care (Well Baby Clinics) and from physicians at HMC
 
What Will Happen After The Referral?
When your consulting CDC physician generates a referral for your child to the program will receive phone call to confirm first appointment.
  • First appointment
    • You will meet the team and be informed of the process. The program nurse will obtain a comprehensive developmental History by asking you specific questions.
    • A team screening session in the form of evaluation / observation session with the child using different activities and games with the child will be carried out to confirm the eligibility to access the program
    • If the child found to be on the moderate or high risk of ASD you will be given follow up sessions / appointments that focus on parent training and counseling.
    • If the child have no risk he will be referred back to the physician to redirect him to other services
